MedCIRCLE Infobar preferences dialog

This page describes how to set your health information preferences using the MedCIRCLE Infobar preferences dialog. When you open the this dialog you see the ten categories of the Health Information Disclosure, Description, and Evaluation Language HIDDEL which is used to describe a health information website and its provider. Each of the categories is described by a few keywords.

 
 

Clicking on a plus sign opens a category folder and presents the elements of the category. The icons in front of each element allow to quickly view the assigned importance of the respective element. which will influence the calculation of the confidence value.

The respective HIDDEL question must be answered. If it is answered differently or not answered at all, the visited website is red-flagged.

The respective HIDDEL question should be answered. If it is answered differently or not answered at all, the confidence value is decreased slightly.

The respective HIDDEL question is unimportant and will not be regarded in the confidence value calculation.

 

The two following snapshots show different kinds of HIDDEL questions, a controlled vocabulary question with predefined answers and a question that expects free text as an answer. For both kinds of question you can specify the importance. In the case of controlled vocabulary questions you may additionally select a preferred answer that will be regarded when calculating the confidence value. In this example, the question regarding feedback possibilities must be answered in the MedCIRCLE record about a currently visited website. Additionally, it is preferred that the user can get in contact with the website's information provider by Mail. The second example says that it would raise the confidence level of the currently visited website if there is an e-mail adress given to address content issues.
