The following HIDDEL vocabulary (Health Information Disclosure, Description and
Evaluation Language) is used by our partners and health information providers to describe
and evaluate health information on the Internet.
HIDDEL in its first version was initially developed during the
MedCERTAIN project, a joint project of the University of Heidelberg,
Germany, the ILRT and FINOHTA, co-funded under the European Union's (EU)
"Action Plan for safer use of the Internet" from 5/2000 until 02/2002. It
will be further refined and expanded during the MedCIRCLE project.
Each of the following main headings branches out and contains several elements
and subelements.
- Level 1 means that the health information provider has provided the element,
- Level 2 means that a non-medical expert has reviewed the site and ascertained that
the Level-1-metadata provided is correct, and
- Level 3 means that a medical expert has provided an opinion.
Click on a main heading to see the subordinate elements as well as the question
(asked to the health information provider or evaluator), possible values, and the
level on which the element will be filled in.
